The Honourable Ed Lumley
The Honourable Ed Lumley P.C. has been Vice-Chairman of BMO Capital Markets and it’s predecessor companies since 1991. From 1986 to 1991, he served as Chairman of Noranda Manufacturing Group Inc.
The previous ten years were spent in the Parliament of Canada where he served as Minister of the Crown holding several portfolios including Industry, International Trade, Regional Economic Development, Communications and Science & Technology. During this period, he was also responsible to Parliament for over 50 Crown Corporations, Boards and Commissions.
Mr. Lumley has served on a number of Corporate and Advisory Boards of Directors and is currently a member of the Boards of Bell Canada Enterprises, Canadian National and Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Mercedes-Benz Canada.
Prior to his political career Mr. Lumley was a successful entrepreneur and over the years he has been involved with numerous non-profit organizations. During his business career he also has chaired several committees and commissions on behalf of the Government such as the Canada-Japan Forum.
Mr. Lumley is the Chancellor of the University of Windsor.
