Mr. Justin Kingsley

Justin Kingsley is Vice-President, Strategy at creative agency Sid Lee (www.sidlee.com) in their Montreal office. Working with a number of national and international brands and organizations, Justin specializes in developing creative solutions and strategies for Canada’s agency of the year in 2009 and 2010.

Prior to joining Sid Lee in mid 2010, Justin was working with Lucasfilm Inc., National Geographic, Apple and the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee. For the 2010 Games he developed the first ever bilingual Olympic slogan, With Glowing Hearts / Des plus brillants exploits.

He led a creativity and strategy unit at Bleublancrouge, named one of the 10 best advertising agencies in Canada in 2008 and 2009. He also led BW, a boutique agency that specialized in youth communications and research.

In 2009 Marketing Magazine named Justin one of Canada’s 25 most creative people.

A feature writer in Canadian and American magazines, he has also published short stories and is an award-winning photographer and a member of Contrast Photo Agency (www.contrast-photo.com).

A former Press Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Justin was spokesman for Prime Minister Paul Martin and was responsible for economic portfolios in the communications office of the PMO in 2003-2004. Prior, he was Chief, Media Relations for the Government of Canada’s communications division, Communication Canada, where he developed and delivered communication strategies related to, among other subjects, sponsorship. He has also worked for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research as Director, Communications and Government Relations.

Justin started his career in journalism and his work earned nominations for National Newspaper and National Magazine Awards.

As an international lecturer he has delivered courses and/or lectures at McGill University, Concordia University, the HEC, the Université de Toulouse, Infopresse, Strategy Magazine and many others. Subjects include: creativity, crisis communications, leadership and decision-making, and public speaking.
 
He has volunteered at the Olympics and the Paralympics, the Jane Goodall Foundation and the Canadian Ape Alliance. He plays soccer and is seeking the ever-elusive left-footed half-volley.
